Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak, who represents North Dakota in the U.S. House of Representatives, shared updates on her recent engagements with energy and technology leaders through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On August 13, 2025, Fedorchak highlighted her collaboration with Secretary Wright and the Department of Energy. She wrote, "@ENERGY @SecretaryWright As an engineer with decades of experience producing energy, @SecretaryWright gets that we need to innovate, not overregulate. In the fluid lab, we discussed how pressure, fluids, & geology interact to produce more barrels of Bakken oil while at the same time benefiting ND coal." This post referenced ongoing discussions about balancing innovation and regulation in North Dakota's energy sector.

Later that day, Fedorchak reported on a roundtable discussion involving representatives from various sectors of North Dakota’s energy industry. She stated on August 13, 2025: "@ENERGY @SecretaryWright To finish the day, we held a roundtable with representatives from North Dakota's oil, gas, coal, and power industries. Central to the conversation was not just how far we've come, but how we can use the One Big Beautiful Bill's investment in EOR. We'll produce more oil, create". Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) is a set of techniques used to increase the amount of crude oil that can be extracted from an oil field.

Two days later, on August 15, 2025, Fedorchak turned her attention to technology policy at a regional summit. She posted: "Great discussion about AI with Red River Valley (not Silicon Valley!) innovators & business leaders at the Midwest Technology Summit. I underscored the massive power needs and incredible opportunities AI presents, and joined a panel discussing what’s ahead for tech policy." The Midwest Technology Summit gathers business leaders and technologists to discuss advancements and challenges facing regional industries.

Fedorchak has been active in promoting both traditional energy development—such as Bakken oil production—and new technological initiatives like artificial intelligence within North Dakota. Her public comments reflect ongoing debates around regulatory approaches and infrastructure investments needed for future growth across these sectors.
