Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) has announced changes to her staff in both Washington, D.C. and Fargo, North Dakota. Sadie Hanson, originally from Grand Forks and previously the Staff Assistant in the D.C. office since January, will move back to North Dakota to serve as the Community Relations Representative based in Fargo. Zoe McKinven of Harvey, a recent graduate of North Dakota State University who interned with Fedorchak’s office this summer, will take over Hanson’s role in Washington.

Hanson’s new position involves serving as Fedorchak’s primary contact across eastern North Dakota, including areas such as Fargo and Grand Forks as well as other communities along the Red River Valley. Her responsibilities include identifying local priorities for policy decisions and assisting constituents with federal agencies.

“Sadie has been an essential part of our team from day one—helping set up the office, build out systems, and keep things running smoothly from the start,” said Fedorchak. “She’s led our internship program, launched the Notable North Dakotan recognition, and brought a heart for service to everything she’s done. The work she'll do across the Red River Valley will help inform the decisions I make in Washington and ensure that local voices continue to shape national policy.”

“As someone deeply rooted in eastern North Dakota, it feels natural to return home and serve the people of the Red River Valley,” said Hanson. “After working in our D.C. office, I’m excited to bring that experience back to North Dakota. I’m looking forward to hitting the road, reconnecting with familiar faces, maintaining strong relationships, and building new ones along the way.”

McKinven will handle daily operations in Washington while managing front office communications and welcoming visitors from North Dakota at the Capitol.

“Zoe represents the best of North Dakota’s next generation of leaders, and I’m excited to have her join the team full-time,” said Fedorchak. “She’s proven her commitment to public service and brings energy, perspective, and small-town values to our D.C. office.”

“Growing up in a small town like Harvey taught me the value of hard work, community, and doing your part—and I’m proud to bring those values to Team Fedorchak,” McKinven said. “Spending the summer in Washington has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to step into this new role and help serve North Dakotans from our nation’s capital.”
