Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak has recently highlighted key provisions of the "One Big Beautiful Bill" through a series of posts on her official X account. The posts, published between August 4 and August 6, 2025, focus on Medicaid spending reforms and incentives for purchasing American-made vehicles.

On August 4, Fedorchak addressed rising Medicaid costs, stating, "From 2018-2023, annual Medicaid spending grew at twice the rate of inflation. The One Big Beautiful Bill delivers commonsense reforms to strengthen & sustain the program for those it was designed to serve: seniors, low-income pregnant women, and individuals with disabilities."

The following day, she drew attention to tax benefits related to car purchases: "Did you know you can receive a federal tax deduction of up to $10,000 for annual interest paid on car loans for American-made cars? The One Big Beautiful Bill helps make it more affordable to buy American-made vehicles. "

On August 6, Fedorchak quoted Sarah Aker from the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services: "Sarah Aker, executive director of medical services for the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services, says, 'If people are compliant, if people meet the eligibility requirements, they will stay covered.' https://t.co/mz7c117hp6"

Medicaid is a joint federal and state program that provides health coverage to eligible low-income individuals including seniors, pregnant women, children, and people with disabilities. In recent years in the United States, Medicaid spending has grown significantly faster than inflation due to factors such as increased enrollment during economic downturns and expanded eligibility under policies like the Affordable Care Act.

Federal policy periodically introduces new tax incentives aimed at supporting domestic manufacturing and consumer affordability. Proposals such as deductions for interest paid on car loans for American-made vehicles are intended both to stimulate domestic auto production and reduce costs for consumers.

Sarah Aker’s statement comes amid ongoing discussions about ensuring continuous coverage for eligible Medicaid recipients as states review enrollments post-pandemic.
