Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak of North Dakota announced the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill, which is now set to be signed by President Trump. This legislation aims to advance President Trump's America First agenda by implementing tax cuts for working families, boosting American energy production, enhancing border security, and supporting U.S. farmers and producers.
Fedorchak expressed her support for the bill stating, "The One Big Beautiful Bill turns the page on four years of weakness, disorder, and runaway federal spending—and begins a new chapter for America." She emphasized that the bill's core principle is allowing Americans to retain more of their earnings. According to Fedorchak, this would help revitalize the economy and encourage investment.
The White House Council of Economic Advisors has projected that this bill could increase annual GDP growth to 3 percent and potentially generate up to $4 trillion in additional revenue. Fedorchak highlighted that "The One Big Beautiful Bill delivers meaningful spending cuts while taking major steps to create a pro-business environment."
Key priorities of the bill include permanent extensions of tax cuts from 2017, increased child tax credits, and various incentives for businesses. It also addresses energy policies by restoring oil and gas leasing and providing regulatory relief for energy producers.
On border security, the bill allocates over $175 billion through 2034 for measures such as completing the southern border wall and increasing resources for immigration agencies.
Additionally, it includes provisions aimed at modernizing air traffic control systems and revising Medicaid engagement requirements.
Fedorchak encourages constituents to read her op-ed on the bill in The Forum.
