The City of West Fargo will begin a Sheyenne Street tree planting project Monday, May 8. Trees will be planted between 32nd Avenue W. and 40th Avenue W. Planting is scheduled to take two weeks and minor traffic delays may occur throughout the project. Residents are encouraged to take extra caution while driving and be aware of crews and equipment working throughout the area.

This project will plant approximately 139 trees in seven varieties to enhance West Fargo’s urban forest. The City of West Fargo has been a Tree City USA community through the Arbor Foundation since 1984. The City’s Forestry Division maintains a thriving urban forest, which offers many advantages to our community. Some of the benefits of a healthy urban forest include traffic sound absorption, increased property value, reduction of energy costs, and carbon dioxide absorption, among others.
