We've been hunting high and low for a register for the Normal School Museum started in 1892 by Lura Perrine when she was...pretty much THE Science Department at the new school that today is VCSU. Her museum contained lots of natural history specimens and objects of curiosity intended for use in the classroom as teaching aids as it was encouraged for teachers to collect such useful objects for their students to learn from. The museum was disbanded in the 1960s and many of the artifacts came to the Barnes County Museum that was founded in 1930 and is the oldest county historical society in ND. With roots going back to 1892 it is indeed THE oldest without a doubt. We FOUND the ledger thanks to the new system, though it was identified as Perrine Museum so....we will get that corrected, but it is in hand and while it is 99% empty, it does have information on some of what the Normal Museum contained.
