July 13th's Music in the Park was by Myron Sommerfeld. Before the show, he did an informal dedication of the tree he and his family planted in City Park in honor of Peggy Lee's 100th B-day in 2020. It is an American Elm resistant to Dutch Elm Disease that has deforested our parks in town taking out hundred of trees. It is planted in a spot where, when it is grown, will provide needed shade for the audience of the Bandshell. The best time to plant a tree is 25 years ago. The next best time is TODAY! The person who plants trees knows they will never sit in its full-grown shade. It is a gift for tomorrow. We need more trees in our parks! Thank you, Myron and family!
