The North Dakota State men’s and women’s track and field teams will participate in competitions across South Dakota, California, and Nebraska starting April 16.

The events are important for the Bison as they provide opportunities for athletes to compete at a high level and improve their rankings during the outdoor season.

According to the announcement, Bison sprinters and hurdlers are scheduled to race at the Dewey Donat Classic hosted by Northern State in Aberdeen, South Dakota on Thursday. Meanwhile, mid-distance and distance runners from North Dakota State will travel to Azusa, California for the Bryan Clay Invitational, which takes place from Thursday through Saturday. Field event athletes will head to Lincoln, Nebraska for the Big Red Classic on Friday and Saturday.

Currently, five North Dakota State athletes are ranked among the NCAA Top 50 in their respective outdoor events. Reece Grosserode is ranked 19th in triple jump; Arienne Birch is ranked 21st in high jump; Kaleb Foltz holds the 31st spot in the 800 meters; Aaron Cummings is placed 34th in pole vault; and Brady Goss is ranked 42nd in the 3000 meter steeplechase.

These meets serve as an opportunity for Bison athletes to maintain or improve their national standings as they progress through the outdoor season.
