North Dakota State to play Montana State in 2027 Vegas Kickoff Classic

North Dakota State University will face Montana State at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas during Labor Day weekend as part of the 2027 Vegas Kickoff Classic, athletic director Matt Larsen announced on March 25.

The announcement confirms that the game remains scheduled despite North Dakota State’s recent invitation to join the Mountain West Conference. The matchup was originally revealed in August 2025.

Details such as the exact date, kickoff time, and broadcast network for the game have not yet been released. The event is operated by ESPN Events and features additional matchups.

Also included in the 2027 Vegas Kickoff Classic is a game between the Miami Hurricanes and Utah Utes, known as the “Battle of the U,” which is set for Saturday, Sept. 4.
