The North Dakota State University men’s track and field team hosted its first home meet of the 2026 outdoor season at the NDSU Spring Classic on Sunday, April 12.
The event marked an important opportunity for athletes to compete on their home turf early in the outdoor schedule. Several Bison athletes achieved notable results across a range of events.
Andrew Berg won the triple jump with a mark of 44-10.25 (13.67 meters) and finished second in the high jump by clearing 6-08.75 (2.05 meters). Freshman Joshua Kyei-Baffour claimed victory in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.08 seconds.
In other running events, freshman Zackery Bruder took first place in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 48.26 seconds, while fellow freshman Otto Anderson won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.21 seconds.
Kaden Pastian threw a personal-best distance of 205 feet, two inches (62.53 meters) to win the hammer throw and now ranks tenth all-time in school history for that event. Freshman Ryder Bickett secured first place in javelin with a throw of 194 feet, six inches (59.29 meters), followed closely by Logan Arason who was second at 193 feet, five inches (58.96 meters).
Competing unattached, Jack Packer recorded a personal-best shot put distance of 56 feet, four inches (17.17 meters), while freshman Paul Hoekman also set a personal best at 56 feet, one-and-three-quarter inches (17.11 meters). Jeran McNichols finished as runner-up in both sprint events—the men’s 100-meter dash at 10.85 seconds and the men’s 200-meter dash at 21.74 seconds.
Unattached freshman Taylor Wanner won the men’s1500 meter race with a time of three minutes and fifty-seven point fifteen seconds.
