The North Dakota State University men’s golf team will participate in the Racer Intercollegiate, hosted by Murray State at the Country Club of Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky, on April 6 and 7.
The tournament is significant as it marks NDSU’s first appearance at this event, which features a field of 15 teams and a total of 92 golfers. The competition will be played over two days with three rounds totaling 54 holes. The first two rounds are scheduled for Monday, followed by the final round on Tuesday.
Live results for the tournament will be available through Scoreboard Live by Clippd, with links accessible on the Men’s Golf Schedule page at gobison.com. Alongside North Dakota State, participating teams include SIUE, Belmont, Tennessee Tech, Dayton, Tennessee-Martin, Morehead State, Tennessee Chattanooga, Austin Peay, Bradley, Lindenwood, Southern Indiana, Eastern Illinois and Southern Illinois.
The Country Club of Paducah course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1984. It is a par-72 course stretching over 7,014 yards from the back tees and includes wide zoysia fairways along with multiple bunkers and lakes. The club regularly hosts collegiate events as well as amateur tournaments such as USGA Amateur Qualifiers and KPGA tournaments.
NDSU finished 14th in its last outing at the Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate in late March. Senior Rylin Petry led NDSU during that event with a tie for 29th place at +1 overall. For this week’s competition NDSU will send six golfers: Andrew Ballou, Gabe Benson, Rylin Petry (who has finished as top Bison golfer at their last two events), Jake Skarperud (who holds NDSU’s lowest season score), Carter White and freshman Joey Mackinac who returns to tournament play after recording a score of 153 across duals against UND.
After competing at the Racer Intercollegiate this week NDSU is scheduled to play next at the Hawkeye Invitational hosted by Iowa later this month.
