North Dakota State advances to Summit League semifinals after win over Oral Roberts

North Dakota State University’s men’s basketball team secured a 76-65 win over Oral Roberts in the quarterfinals of the Summit League Tournament on Thursday evening in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. With this victory, the Bison move forward to face either South Dakota or Omaha in the semifinals scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Damari Wheeler-Thomas was the leading scorer for NDSU with 18 points, while Trevian Carson contributed 17 points. Noah Feddersen achieved a double-double, recording 12 points and 11 rebounds. Andy Stefonowicz added seven assists during the game.

At halftime, North Dakota State held a 36-26 lead. Oral Roberts managed a 10-0 run to narrow the deficit to five points at 57-52 with just over ten minutes remaining. Wheeler-Thomas responded by making a three-point shot, followed by an eight-point run from the Bison to maintain their advantage.

NDSU finished with a shooting percentage of 40 percent and limited Oral Roberts to 38 percent shooting from the field. The Bison also collected 16 offensive rebounds and had nine fewer turnovers than their opponent.

With this result, North Dakota State improved its overall record to 25-7, which ties the highest number of wins in a season under head coach David Richman. The school’s all-time record for wins in one season stands at 26.
