The North Dakota State University women’s track and field team delivered strong performances on April 12 at the NDSU Spring Classic, held at the Terrence Dahl and Donna Beres Track Complex in Fargo.

The event marked the team’s first home outdoor meet of the season. The Bison women dominated several events, particularly in sprints, hurdles, and jumps. Sydney Arndt won the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 13.66 seconds, which places her sixth all-time in NDSU history. Freshman Jordyn Davis finished second with a time of 13.91 seconds, followed by Marvelous Onwualo in third at 14.07 seconds. Kate Laqua and Aizlynn Krafka rounded out the top five.

In sprinting events, sophomore Paige Renschler claimed victory in the 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 11.46 seconds, moving to third place on NDSU’s all-time list for that event. Anika Larson finished second while running unattached with a time of 11.67 seconds; Kendra Mehrkens took third place and also secured third place in the 200-meter dash.

The Bison swept the top four spots in the 400-meter hurdles as Kendal Stingle won with a personal best of 1:00.27 minutes—placing her ninth on NDSU’s historical list for this event—followed by Laqua (second), Brooke Cina (third), Sophia Headley (fourth), and Onwualo (seventh).

Field events saw junior Arienne Birch win high jump after clearing a height that ranks her among NCAA’s Top 25 entering this weekend’s competitions; Grace VanErp captured triple jump honors while moving to eleventh all-time at NDSU; freshman Jenna Schutt debuted for second place in javelin throw; Aizlynn Krafka topped pole vault results; Alyson Kleyman won steeplechase; Adison Kapitzke took shot put title; Elise Wisnewski placed second in the open quarter-mile race.

The performances suggest depth across multiple disciplines as well as promising contributions from both experienced athletes and newcomers.
