North Dakota State University (NDSU) softball will host Kansas City for a three-game Summit League series at Tharaldson Park, with games scheduled for Sunday and Monday, following a schedule change due to expected weather and temperatures, according to an April 17 announcement.
The upcoming series is significant as it affects both teams’ standings in the Summit League. The Bison lead the all-time matchup against the Roos, having won 32 of their previous 44 meetings since NDSU’s first Division I season in 2005. Last year, NDSU claimed two out of three games in Kansas City, while Kansas City took two out of three during their last visit to Fargo in 2024.
The doubleheader on Sunday will begin at noon, with the final game set for an 11 a.m. start on Monday. All games will be streamed live on The Summit League Network via the Midco Sports Plus App and will include live statistics. Ticket prices are $11 for adults and $6 for youth aged three to seventeen; seating is general admission and tickets can be purchased at the gate. Parking is free around Tharaldson Park.
NDSU has recently seen success on the field. For the second time this season, both Jocelyn McClary and Jessica Delatorre received Summit League honors after sweeping South Dakota—McClary as Peak Pitcher after two complete game victories with nine strikeouts, and Delatorre as Peak Performer after hitting two home runs in that series. Offensively, NDSU has hit more doubles this season than last year—66 compared to just 44—with Bella Dean leading with fourteen doubles.
The Bison also top league statistics in stolen bases (54), double plays turned (17), and home runs (24). Recent performances included scoring thirty-five runs over a weekend series at South Dakota—the most by NDSU in a league series since April 2015—and winning four of six recent conference games.
After facing Kansas City at home, NDSU will conclude its regular-season road schedule against North Dakota next weekend.
