North Dakota State University’s softball team will finish a 34-game road stretch and its non-conference schedule with a two-game series against No. 6 Alabama in Tuscaloosa, according to a March 26 announcement from the university.

The games are scheduled for Friday, March 27, at 6 p.m., and Saturday, March 28, at 1 p.m., both at Rhoads Stadium. The matchups will be streamed live on SEC Network Plus, which requires an ESPN Plus subscription for viewing. Live statistics and game coverage links can be found on the NDSU softball schedule page.

This meeting marks the sixth time NDSU has faced Alabama in program history. The Bison hold a record of one win and four losses against the Crimson Tide, with their only victory coming in an upset over then-No.2 Alabama during the Easton Crimson Classic on March 5, 2016.

Since moving to Division I in 2005, NDSU has played more than one hundred games against Top-25 ranked teams in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll and has recorded twelve wins against ranked opponents—five of those versus top-10 teams. The last such win was over No.10 LSU on March 24, 2018.

Several players have contributed significantly this season during the team’s extensive travel period across multiple states for tournaments and non-conference games. Freshman pitcher Jocelyn McClary holds a strong record in night games while junior Star Cortez leads offensively with a .394 batting average and notable defensive plays including outfield assists and home run-saving catches. Madison Wihlm has become a reliable presence as pitcher this year by surpassing her previous innings total early into conference play.

Looking ahead after facing Alabama, North Dakota State will return home to begin Summit League play against St. Thomas in Fargo.
