The North Dakota State University (NDSU) men’s golf team will travel to Litchfield Park, Arizona, for the Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate on March 23-24. The tournament, hosted by Minnesota and St. Thomas, will be held at Wigwam Golf Club’s Gold Course.

The event is significant as it marks NDSU’s first appearance at the Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate, now in its second year. The competition provides an opportunity for the Bison to face a field of 17 teams, including Arkansas State, Bethel, Denver, Drake, Iowa State, Kansas City, Marquette, Maryland, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oral Roberts, UT San Antonio, Utah State, and Wisconsin.

The tournament will consist of 54 holes played over two days. The first two rounds are scheduled for Monday with tee times starting at 8 a.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST), followed by the final round on Tuesday. Live results will be available through Scoreboard Live by Clippd and can be accessed via the Men’s Golf Schedule page on gobison.com.

Wigwam Golf Club’s Gold Course is known as “Arizona’s Monster” due to its challenging layout. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the par-72 course stretches 7,345 yards from the back tees and features long par-4s and elevated greens. The course has previously hosted multiple United States Golf Association qualifiers and NCAA Regional Championships.

NDSU enters this tournament after finishing 13th at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate. Rylin Petry was the top performer for NDSU in that event with a tie for 20th place out of an 84-golfer field. For this week’s competition in Arizona, NDSU will field Andrew Ballou, Gabe Benson, Rylin Petry, Jake Skarperud (who leads the team with a season-low score of 209), and Max Wilson.

Following their participation in Arizona, NDSU men’s golf will have a week off before competing again at the Racer Intercollegiate hosted by Murray State in Paducah, Kentucky on April 6-7.
