Valley City State University announced on April 9 that Kara Pranzo’s Senior Capstone exhibit, titled Storytelling, will be on display in the Larry J. Robinson Center for the Arts Gallery from April 13 to April 24. Pranzo is a student at Valley City State University and will present an artist talk about her work on Monday, April 20, at 3 p.m. in the CFA Choir Room.
The university said that the artist talk will also be livestreamed through the VCSU Art Department’s YouTube channel and Facebook page for those who cannot attend in person.
Storytelling focuses on using digital illustration to create narratives and communicate ideas. The exhibit aims to connect with viewers by exploring themes such as loneliness, belonging, and striving for self-improvement through visual storytelling.
Pranzo is originally from Minot, North Dakota, and is set to graduate this spring with a degree in digital design and a minor in marketing. She said she hopes to find employment as a graphic designer within a design firm or marketing department after graduation. She also plans to continue exploring new approaches in design while making an impact through her art.
Pranzo thanked her friends, family, Professor Ekow Ephrim, Professor Angela Mircsov, and Professor Gratia Brown from the Art Department for their support during her time at Valley City State University. “Without them,” she said, “her exhibit wouldn’t be possible.”
