North Dakota State junior Ethan Moe broke the school record in the 1500 meters on Apr. 19 during the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California.
The achievement highlights a notable weekend for the Bison distance team, with several athletes delivering strong performances at a major track and field event.
Moe, who is from Williston, North Dakota, finished with a time of 3:40.74. This surpassed Travis Fitzke’s previous North Dakota State University all-time best of 3:42.32 set in 2013 by nearly two seconds. Moe also improved his own personal-best by more than two seconds and moved ahead of former Bison runner Mike Bollman to become first on NDSU’s all-time list.
Other members of the team also posted impressive results at the meet. Quinn Roehl ran a personal-best time of 3:46.33 in the same event, which places him fifth in school history for that distance. Carl Rekow recorded a time of 3:46.10 and remains fourth-fastest on NDSU’s all-time list for the event, while Will Gerber clocked his third-best career time at 3:53.39.
These results reflect continued progress among North Dakota State’s distance runners as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
