North Dakota State University softball players Jessica Delatorre and Jocelyn McClary were named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, after their performances in last weekend’s sweep against South Dakota, according to an April 14 announcement.

These awards recognize standout achievements from both players during a series that saw North Dakota State win all games. Such recognition highlights individual contributions that helped secure victories for the team.

Delatorre led the Bison offense by hitting two home runs during the series, including a game-tying solo homer in game three that contributed to NDSU’s rally. She finished with four hits in eleven at-bats, five runs batted in, six runs scored, and a slugging percentage of 1.371. This is her first career Summit League Peak Performer honor.

McClary pitched two complete-game victories over South Dakota. In Friday’s opener she allowed just four hits and one earned run while striking out six batters. She followed up with another strong performance, allowing only two earned runs and recording three strikeouts to help secure the sweep. This marks her third Summit League Peak Pitch honor this season and her second time being part of a Bison sweep of these accolades; earlier this year she shared honors with Bella Dean following opening weekend.

NDSU has now collected six peak performer or pitcher awards this season from different athletes on its roster: Delatorre, McClary, Dean, and Madison Wihlm have all received recognition.
