Sophomore Avery Bartels was named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Golfer of the Week for the first time in her career, according to a March 12 announcement from the league office.
This recognition comes after Bartels finished tied for seventh place at the SoCal Spring Invitational, marking her third top-10 finish of the season. She posted rounds of 72, 75, and 71 for a total score of 218 over three rounds, improving her position by four spots in the final round.
Bartels is from Oxbow, North Dakota. She becomes the third different member of the Bison women’s golf team to receive this award during the current season.
The Summit League’s full release on Bartels’ achievement is available online. The North Dakota State University women’s golf team will compete next at the Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” event in Phoenix, Arizona, scheduled for March 23-24.
Bartels’ performance highlights her continued growth as a key contributor to her team and underscores the depth of talent within NDSU’s women’s golf program.
